Zenia’s stomach churned from the nauseating odor of rotting flesh in the stale morning air. Students fanned themselves with their books in the still, humid atmosphere. She glanced around after swallowing loudly to drain the extra saliva welling up in her mouth. The foul smell did not seem to affect anyone else.

She scanned the classroom, searching for the source of the disgusting stench. She gasped and dashed for the windows, spewing liquid from her stomach before she got close enough to clear the open window’s sill. The teacher rushed over and rubbed her back, holding her hair away from the streaming stomach contents.
